Exercise 4
Drawing from real objects
For this exercise I really wanted to get off the page! I wanted to see what I could do with the most random selection of items I could find. And those objects happened to be a lime green plastic sellotape dispenser, a blue acrylic cube from Ikea and a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk.
I picked out some interesting shapes by balancing a viewing frame with a couple more cubes and looking through it. I worked in a range of media to explore the collection from different perspectives.
I also did a quick experiment with combining two of my favourite pieces. These seem to me to offer good scope for future exploration.
